GenealogyBank - a historical newspaper archive. This is a site that I accidentally joined, but was happy I did. Whether or not I renew the subscription depends on how many new newspapers they add.

Don't forget to check Google's historic newspapers first. Although they no longer have the "News Timeline," all the newspapers are still there and searchable. Go to news.google.com, then click the arrow on the right side of the search box to bring up the advanced search. On the option to choose "date added to Google News," choose "in archive." Once you have conducted a search, click "Free Only" in the left pane.
